This year, Breakaway Loft is flying with the Western Flyers Pigeon
Club in Bountiful. This club encompasses the southern end of
Davis
County.
Currently there are about eight flyers in this club. It has been
a lot of fun to get to know them. I already knew a couple of the
guys from past associations, but the rest were new. I am really
enjoying these new friendships.
In the past, Breakaway Loft has flown with the Ogden Racing
Pigeon Club which flies to the north
and to the northwest from stations in Idaho and Montana. During
the old bird season
they
also pick up one station in Oregon. The race course has to bend
to the west to avoid going into Canada.
I have enjoyed my associations
with the Ogden Club and have many friends from there, but changes
in rules and preferences in 2004 have forced me to try my
luck in a different club.
The Ogden Club
membership
did
not
want to fly against anyone using a "system" during
the fall of 2004. Since I fly my young birds on the darkening
system, this
caused
quite
a
bit of contention in the club. To ease the tension, I chose to
fly with another club.
I have enjoyed flying with the Western Flyers Pigeon Club the
past three seasons. I am now an official member, so my results
can be counted in the Club, Combine and Concourse Records. I enjoy
the associations with other members and the great competition.
