I have made some great friends
in the Pigeon Racing Sport over the years. One friend who has
helped me the most is Frank McLaughlin from Hanson, Massachusetts.
He
has helped me to aquire some great stock birds and given me much
insight into how to accomplish more with my birds. I have truly
felt his friendship and have enjoyed our association together.
He is the best friend I wished I would have had while growing
up, someone who can talk pigeons with me and really understand
what
I am talking about. He has been an awesome flyer in the past,
though now he isn't spending as much time at flying as he does
at breeding.
He has an awesome web site. Check it out at http://www.mclaughlinusa.com/ .
My brother, David Goode is one of my very best friends in the
sport of pigeons. He and I, as well as my
other brother, Kavin Goode,
have had pigeons since
I was five years old. Both of my brothers began showing signs of Pigeon
Breeders Disease in their early twenties, so they must limit
contact with the pigeons.
Kavin rarely goes in a coop anymore, though we still talk pigeons when
we get the chance. Kavin lives in Heber, Utah, so a call to him
is long distance.
Hence, we don't get the opportunity to talk as often as we would like
to. David on the other hand, lives just a few cities away. We talk
on the phone nearly
every day and he visits my lofts once or twice almost every week. I appreciate
the friendship of both of my brothers and the interest we share in the
pigeons
as well as other hobbies. Next to my wife, I would have to say that my
brothers are my best friends.
Todd Bartholomew is another good friend in the sport. He and I
raced together one season from my loft while Todd was in college
trying to finish his degree. He is busy with a new career and home,
but we still love to talk about pigeons. Someday he will have more
time and be able to get back into the sport again.
Scott Saunders is another great friend. He is my greatest competition
at the moment. His birds have been having a great year. Scott is
an excellent flyer and has some awesome lofts in a beautiful back
yard. I have known Scott for a few years, but this year I have
had the oppportunity to really become friends with him. We have
a lot of common interests and I have really enjoyed our friendship
and the time we have spent together.
I also have numerous friends in my local pigeon club and combine.
Many great men have helped me become a better flyer and breeder
as we have discussed pigeons and their needs. I want to thank all
the great guys that I fly with and against. They keep me on my
toes and encourage me to try new things to beat them.
My wife, Carol Goode is one of my biggest supporters. She is the
talent behind this web page. She works with computers every day
and has a real talent for technology. She
uses her skills to help me do better in
the
pigeons
as
far
as record-keeping
and advertising. She puts up me and my hobby and has learned enough
about pigeons to be a huge help to me. I love her and appreciate
her help and support. |
