We had to make a huge decision for our loft when it came to the 1999 Old Bird Season. We had purchased a few tremendous pigeons for breeding stock, but we needed more breeders to work with. The decision was whether to keep our 1998 young bird race team together as flyers or to move the very best ones into the breeding loft. Knowing that we couldn't face the chance of losing some of these fantastic pigeons, we sacrificed our chances of winning in the Old Bird Season to preserve these pigeons in our breeding loft.

This decision proved to be a good one and though we believe we could have had a much better flying season with them on the team, we are glad we chose to breed them instead. We have been thrilled with the young we have bred from these 1998 champions. We believe we have some of the finest Staf Van Reet pigeons in the world. See our 2004 Young Bird Race Results. We had a few really good races and lots of average races during the season. We were able to win three club races and one combine race. We had a couple of really super birds who came through consistently. We were pleased with the season overall.
