Crating Pigeons

This is the same crating assembly, but from a different angle. Simple legs support the platform and sit on the concrete in front of the loft. The crates sit end to end on the platform.

He positions the crates on the platform, then removes all the end boards except for the very last one. Then Craig goes into the loft and opens the trap door and secures it in the upright position.

It is an easy matter to walk the pigeons into the corner where they basically crate themselves. He has to do them in smaller groups, so when enough pigeons have gone out, he closes the door and goes back outside. Here he divides the pigeons up evenly between the crates and puts the end boards back in the crates. Craig always drives the truck out to the loft when he is crating, so it is easy to walk a short distance and slide the crates into the bed of the truck.
