In the view, you can see how the door design works. The ends of the door wrap over top of the last dowel. Ther are rounded smooth on the ends. You can see the hole that the locking dowel slides into. You can also see a good view of the handle in this picture. It is part of the frame, but Craig has smoothed the edges to prevent any slivers. It is wide enough that his hand fits comfortably without rubbing on the board next to his hand. All the edges that are in contact with his hand have been rounded over and sanded smooth. The sides of the crate are a mesh cloth. They are light weight, yet durable. The mesh allows air movement giving the birds better ventilation. Craig found this cloth and bought a large roll of it at a better price. It is a cloth made for awnings and he got it at a local hardware/garden store. |
