This is a close up view. We live in Utah where it gets cold in the winter and where the water for the pigeons would normally freeze. It was always a pain for Craig to unthaw the water and it was unhealthy for the birds to go all day long without a drink because it was frozen. He installed a light fixture inside each watering box to keep the water from freezing.

When we were taking these pictures, I noticed the piece of wood under the watering box was getting warped. This is really the only place where water can damage the loft. The wood helps keep the heat from the light bulb inside so it does need to be there. Craig removed this piece of wood and replaced it.
